Environmental impact assessment (EIA)
Une évaluation d'impact environnemental ne s'intéresse pas à un système de management mais à un projet, et elle intervient avant qu'il existe. La logique n'est pas « cette organisation satisfait-elle telle exigence » mais « ce projet va-t-il affecter tel compartiment de l'environnement ». Ce questionnaire balaie onze compartiments — ressources naturelles, déchets, pollution, population et santé, eau, biodiversité, transport, sol, climat, effets cumulatifs — par Oui, Non ou Sans objet, avec une explication attendue à chaque point. Tout « Oui » est marqué pour suivi : c'est un impact potentiel à instruire, pas une non-conformité. Ses constats alimentent ensuite la détermination des aspects environnementaux d'un système de management, sans s'y substituer.

How this grid is built
Every control point is written in our own words, then tied to the standard's clause number. The normative text is never reproduced: the standard itself remains to be purchased from the body that publishes it. Grids are reviewed at every new edition of a standard.
