Dans une crèche ou un centre d'accueil, la dégradation ne se voit pas d'un coup : elle s'installe. Un joint qui noircit, une ventilation qui faiblit, un mobilier qui se descelle. Cette grille se remplit salle par salle et pour les sanitaires — revêtements, chauffage et ventilation, mobilier, éclairage, points d'eau — et s'ouvre sur une section consacrée à l'inspection précédente. C'est ce qui la distingue d'un simple relevé : on commence par vérifier ce qui avait été signalé la fois d'avant. Sans cela, une inspection périodique produit une liste de constats qui se répètent d'année en année sans jamais se fermer.
