In-depth technical inspection — heavy vehicle (technician)
Cette inspection s'adresse à un technicien qualifié, non à un conducteur : elle descend au niveau du composant. Freinage, direction, pare-brise et essuie-glaces, circuit de carburant, éclairage et signalisation, dispositifs d'attelage, échappement, suspension et arrimage, châssis, pneumatiques, roues et jantes, équipement et sécurité, remorque le cas échéant. L'échelle en dit long sur l'usage : chaque point est bon, à réparer, sans objet — ou réparé, cet état permettant de refermer la fiche après intervention plutôt que d'en ouvrir une seconde. Elle sert au passage à l'atelier, à la préparation d'un contrôle réglementaire et à la réception d'un véhicule d'occasion. Le tour quotidien du conducteur relève d'une grille beaucoup plus courte.
